I love to eat sandwiches, especially when I realised that I’ve put on weights. (You know, its one of the healthy stuffs as part of the healthy diet) One of my favourite sandwich outlet, is definitely – O’Briens Irish Sandwiches.

When I first saw that this so called Irish Sandwich, I got a little curious (Wonder what’s so different about Irish Sandwich) & wikipediaed it. So, I found out that the first sandwich was created by this dude – Hillel the Elder, some Jewish guy. As for the O’Brien, its basically started by an Irish dude whom’ve chosen the most common name as its brand. This enable an easier entry/expansion abroad. (They are considered quite successful. Can you imagine, this outlet can on as estimation, earn about RM4000++ on a single weekday) Well, if you are really interested to find out more about the histrory of sandwiches, wikipedia.org is always available.

The place I had was in KLCC, which is right in front of Hush Puppies. It has a very simple setup, with their preparation station, chiller for drinks & probably around 3 – 4 little tables & chairs.

The queue starts from here.

The fascinating part is when I got to see the whole lot of ingredients, I decided to customise my own sandwich. I always enjoy mixing & matching with my own preferences, its more costly but you get to eat & enjoy what you really like.

So, after going through this section,

as well as this section, (These two photos did not include some part of the ingredients, you can refer to the earlier picture with the view of the whole container) I’ve decided my choices of ingredients. I’ve picked lettuces (Both green & purple color) + olives (Oh, this is my favourite, the biting sensation with the burst of olive juices was really good) + onions (Please bear with my fart after that, hehe) + capsicum (Those green, yellow & red types, these are my favourites as well) + tomatoes (This is definitely my favourite) + chicken crisp (I don’t know how they do it, but its a very good combination & this is my favourite too) + chicken breast (Everything is my favourite lar) + cheese (I try not to order this but I really can’t resist it) + cranberry sauce (This is a must, it adds sweetness to it & the taste was superb!).

I would like to touch a little bit more of this ingredient, this is the chicken crisp & its very crispy. (I failed at puns, this doesn’t even sound like a pun right?) It adds a certain kind of interesting sensation to it when you munch. I mean, how often you add something crispy to sandwiches? Well, maybe you do. But, to me its a form of enjoyment. Just imagine, the taste is gonna to be Sweet + Aromatic + Crispy + Crunchy + Tender + Cheesy. Gosh, by typing this out makes me feel like going to O’Briens again!

So, this is how my sandwich looked like, its kind of thick huh? But no worries, it fits my mouth.

Not to forget, their staffs are quite friendly. At least, they striked nice posture for me to snap of picture of theirs.

I like their tagline, ‘Just made, fresh to go..’ but I don’t quite get what did they meant by, ‘Accidents happen..’ Take a look at the picture prior to this, the tagline on their apron. I just realised that when I am writing this entry. Is it something like, accidents happen, take a break at O’Briens? Does not sounds logical huh? Anyway, whether accidental or not, their sandwiches still rock!

Here’s the list of their outlets, its located in quite a few places, which is not too difficult for us to locate. So, hope you enjoy their sandwiches as I do. Cheers!

wow…even the look of the ingredient make me crave for it..darn got to rush to the nearest o’briens la..chalooo
Hehehe.. Best to have it there, not to take away as the vegetables will mosturize the chicken crisp & ended up not crispy..
Try San Terri cottage at Plaza Damas. The serve pretty good sandwiches too. Perfect to go with their rose tea. Yum … !
Will look into that. Always go Sri Hartamas area, never walk up to Plaza Damas and around to see that one.
