Sate Kajang at buurps.com

Today, I would like to share about some nice stuffs I recently tried. I am sure you’ve heard about Sate Kajang. Its just like when you talk about ‘Char Kuey Tiaw’, people will associate Penang. So, when you talk about Satay, Kajang is the place. So, have you been to Kajang to try? Well, allow me to share about my experience.

Here you go, Restoran Sate Kajang HJ. Samuri. Its a two storey building with ample spaces for you to choose to be seated.

This place is quite crowded, probably due to the popularity, many people patron Restoren Sate Kajang Hj. Samuri.

I’ve chosen somewhere more romantic, erm.. I mean, to be honest, just somewhere without the light bulbs on top. (So that people won’t really notice how much I order, as it could be quite embarrassing) Their menu is pretty simple. The place I seated, I can just see the menu directly from the display board (Those yellow color signboards).

The moment you are seated down, their waiters were very quick to serve. My plates of ‘Nasi Impit + Cucumber’, along with the Satay sauce + Sambal were served.

Ahh.. This is their specialty, the Satay sauce. As you can see, the red cili sauce is actually the ‘Sambal’, when its added into the Satay sauce, the taste can fly you up to the sky!

I also ordered a bowl of ABC, which literally look like a bowl of blood. Okay.. I am exaggerating, but seriously, before I mixed it, the ice flakes looked as though it was stained with blood. Anyway, the ABC was alright, I still missed the one I always go for when I was much younger & that was in Kelantan. I wonder whether that Siamese Uncle is still there or not.. Hmm.. (I promise, when I get a chance to go back, I will definitely blog about it over here)

Yeah, I’ve ordered about 30 plus sticks, they’ve got quite a varieties ie. beef, chicken, fish, deer, lamb & rabbit meat. Apart from that, they’ve got chicken liver, as well as cow’s belly.

Here are the chicken livers & cow bellies. You want some? Honestly, I only enjoyed the chicken, not the rest. I should have ordered Lamb, rabbit or deer meat. Well, they listed these three right at the lowest part of the menu, after the Nasi Impit & all. I was really TOO hungry to look through the whole list.

Oh yeah, the fish, cow belly & chicken liver weren’t that good. Personally, I find it a little disgusting, especially the fish (The fishy smell was REALLY strong) & cow belly (It tasted funny, like.. Erm, I don’t even know how to describe). Put it this way, after I finished, I buurp & my girl friend looked at me, “Is there any rubbish dump near by??!!” I was like,”No..” & she then,”Oh gosh, it was awful.. What a buurp..” (This buurp was a combination of Satay sauce + ONIONs + cucumbers + Nasi Impit + beef + chicken + cow belly + fish + chicken liver & ABC, so partly due to the fish & cow belly lar, okay?)

Well, taste is very subjective, who knows you may like it a lot, right?

This is the place they prepare the Satays.

For some reasons (Of which I don’t know), they’ve decorated this place with a lot of antiques.

See, another one.

I noticed that the workers here are quite lepak. (Relaxed & lazy) The place I seated, when I asked for onions (After they’ve served the Nasi Impit, Satay sauce & cucumber), it took them forever, until they’ve forgotten about us. When I needed extra orders, I can’t see any waiters around, I have no choice but to make a few trips to look out for them, to place my orders. Yet, they’ve got the time to sit down & talk about Anwar’s sodomy chit chat among themselves, or probably ogling at girls.

Oh yeah, there were these two ladies seated near me, I think she tried calling for the waiters, till she got fed-up, raised her voice loudly &,”Abang! Mari, abang!” (With the hand waving forcefully) Somehow, I think its just the culture, the more popular the stalls/restaurants are, the more they feel cocky & would rather let you wait, than to serve you promptly. Malaysia boleh!

satay kajang standard has really gone down the drain…. it no longer taste as nice as long time ago… i remember tasting the best satay in kajang was like more than 10 years ago…. after that the quality drop… i missed the old kajang satay…..

the name is often used in MANY satay outlets :( unfortunately we can’t tell whether it’s the original unless someone who tasted the original before could verify.

Haji Samurai is the best. There I love their fish Satay. I usually try to stay in a hotel in kajang when I am on a busyness trip to KL.
