Hi Tan Sris, Datos, Datins, ladies, gentlemen, boys & girls, today I am gonna share about another ‘Kee’. Yeah, ‘Meng Kee’, also a chicken rice stall. (I am such a chicken lover, yeah right)

This restaurant is another one that fascinated me, yeah the old school type with marble tables but too bad, no wodden chairs.

This is ‘Si Tao Poh’, in another word, the lady boss of the restaurant. Here, they have two stalls, one for dine-in customers & the other for take-away customers.

So, the other stall is managed by ‘Ah Soh’, opps.. I mean ‘Leng Lui’ (She prefers to be addressed this, hehe) & call her ‘Leng Lui’ & you will get more portion of meat, joking! Though the two stalls serve different purposes, but when the dine-in customers are overflowing (Which usually happen), both stalls will serve the dine-in customers. Why do they need two stalls?

Because here at Meng Kee, they are very FAMOUS for their ‘Char Siew’ @ BBQ Pork. People literally flood this place fot the BBQ Pork & they usually finish selling at around 2pm. When the BBQ Pork are hanged here (As where you can see in the pic), I tell you, you will sure salivate (I did). If you scrutinize carefully, there are drips of BBQ sauce on the chicken below, as well as the plates. (Hmm, chicken here are just gimmicks, but I still see many ordered their chicken)

Do remember to request for ‘Poon Fei Sao’ (Cantonese, Fatty-lean meat) & you will never regret. (Never regret because you get to taste such good BBQ Pork, regret because you’ve added more pounds, Hehe)
P/s : Here, the total cost for me was RM11. I asked for additional BBQ Pork.

Here’s the perfect example of ‘Poon Fei Sao’. The taste is fantastic! Take a look, the fatty-lean meat is wrapped by the sticky caramelised skin. When you bite, you have a sensation which is like this – Sticky+Juicy+Tender+Aromatic & it melts in your mouth.

Just would like to show you another picture to tempt you further. Oh yeah, they don’t have any sauce for this & basically, they are very very confident with their end product. True enough, you don’t even need chilly for this. The reason I asked for additional meat was to have some to munch without the rice, part of the BBQ Pork, I still eat together with the rice. Well, I enjoy munching with both – With/Without rice.

This is where they roast the BBQ Pork, doesn’t look as pleasant but the result is outstanding!

This is the uncle whom marinate & roast the pork. He is just like a director of the movie, you know, the important person behind the scene. I really hope that down the road, there will be somebody whom take over from him. When he was holding the BBQ Pork, it was rather heavy for him but he insisted on holding & want me to take a picture of it. So, if you happen to go to the toilet (Which is near to where they prepare the pork, hehe), remember to say hi to uncle ya.
Last but not least, Meng Kee is located in Tengkat Tungshin, which is the next street to Jalan Alor. I don’t think so it will be too difficult for you to locate it, even if you are around the area, just ask around & I am sure many will know where it is. Cheers! Happy buurping!

food tastes great! only downside is the place is practically full especially when you go on a weekdays, and you’ll prolly have to wait a good 15mins or so before you can a get place to sit.
Except for the filthy looking roast ‘pot’, i’d say this place is recommended for them ‘kai fan’ lovers..
Asir, I usually reach there around 11:30am or earlier.. That’s when I get to enjoy my plate of rice peacefully..
hey guys. just to let you know for those in subang area. There is another outlet of meng kee char siu around jalan glenmarie.
