Many of us know about how unhygienic those road side stalls could be, but somehow, there are still people willing to risk their stomach, to satisfy their stomach first, & think later. I am one of them.
Just not too long ago, I was complaining to one of my colleague saying how much I got bored with Yong Tau Foo because almost everytime we go for lunch, she will suggest YONG TAU FOO. In fact, I’ve even tried the so called best Yong Tau Foo in town – Ampang Yong Tau Foo. But still to me, nothing beat this.

Yeah, this Yong Tau Foo stall is located by the road side in Taman Midah, Cheras, existed here since 10 over years ago, with rats occasionally walking pass without fearing of human.

The look is not convincing huh?

But I assure you, their home made chilly, as well as the sweet sauce, when both being splashed on the Chee Cheong Fun (Rice Noodle Roll), is really powerful! I would like to emphasize on the chilly. Somehow, the chilly here is different from the rest. Well, its not the conventional type where I had in the rest of the Yong Tau Foo places. Those are pretty much similar among themselves. This reminded me of my mum’s home made chilly. Its spicy, sweet, aromatic & you have to try it yourself.

They’ve got quite a varieties of Fried stuffs, what I had was Fried Brinjals, Fried You Char Kway (Fried Bread Stick) & Fried Dumplings. Yeah, I also put a lot of chilly & sweet sauce on top.

Look like pork balls huh? But its not, its fish balls instead. According to the shop owner, they only serve Yong Tao Foo with fish paste here (Hmm, now it got me ponder, is there any other Yong Tau Foo stalls/restaurant serving pork paste?) & also according to him, all home made.

When I was snapping picture, I informed him that I am putting all those pics up on the Internet, to advertise his stall for him & he was very happy (He didn’t belanja me for doing it, hehe). So, he striked a posture & allow me to have his picture.
When you go during peak hours, (Dinner, they are open for business only in the evening, after 8pm is not peak, but not much stuffs left) you may possibly hear the lady boss screaming. Hmm, I am not sure whether she still scream but one time, it was only her serving the customers, (While her husband was frying stuffs) & there were loads of customers waiting. She got very impatient & yelled at one of her customer in Cantonese,”You stand there for what? Not like if you stand here, I can do it faster, I only got two hands.. Sit lar! You come back later lar!..“ But it could also possibly be her having very bad mood that day, not other days. Well, you just have to experience it yourself instead of taking my words. Who knows she’s not like that usually.

I also ordered ABC, from a few stalls away.

I like the ABC (Still, nothing beats the Kebun Sultan, Kota Bharu’s ABC) here, though it costs me RM 2.20 for this one small bowl but there weren’t stingy with the ingredients & I was satisfied.
So, here you go, its located at the food lane in Taman Midah. Its not too difficult to locate it. Happy burrping, cheers!
P/S : I hope I won’t suffer from Diarrhea the next day.
