The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival, into its 8th successive year since its debut in 2001, is bound to set the local fine-dining scene ablaze come November 2008.
The buurps.com crew was invited to attend the Media Launch of this prestigious event.
On behalf of the Buurps crew, I would like to thank the organizer AsiaReach Events Sdn Bhd for inviting us to the Media Launch of MIGF 2008.

The Media Launch
The event started at around 11am, with the arrival of guests, sponsors, special advisory committee and the members of the media, as long with the arrival of YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan Rafique, who is Minister of Federal Territories.
YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan Rafique was then escorted to Dataran Merdeka, to await the arrival of the Master Chefs of the Festival land, ferried by a fleet of helicopters.

This was then follow by the launch sequence at the landing site

The Master Chefs were then made their way to the press conference venue,

which is the ballroom at Royal Selangor Club.

Photographers such as myself, we’re busy at the corner where the dishes from the Master Chefs were on display.

Shortly, the VIPs arrived and YBhg Dato’ Steve Day (Organising Chairman, Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2008 and Group Managing Director, Vision Four Media Group) proceeded to give his speech.

Of course, with the audience of the attentive crowd – including the Master Chefs who were seated on the other side of the room.

This was then followed by a speech from YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan Rafique and also

a presentation of plaques to festival partners, sponsors and chefs.

Then of course, there’s the MIGF 2008 billboard, unveiled by the both the Dato’.

YB Dato’ Seri Zulhasnan Rafique was then escorted to view the display of dishes by Master Chefs of the Festival.

I bet you food-lowers are probably thinking…… “WHERE’S THE FOOD PICTURES!?!?!?!” by now. Are you?
Well, here they are……. (Sorry la, no name for the food. Just enjoy the pics!)

After that, both Dato’ were ushered back to the center of the ballroom for a press conference

So did I get my share of those yummielicious delights? Sad to say …… NO
but I do get to help myself to some delicious buffet, catered by Renaissance Hotel.
I truly enjoy the well seasoned roasted beef and fresh salmon, among many other sinfully tantalizing array of mouth watering culinary goodies of course.

So, are you looking forward to MIGF 2008?
Be sure to set your time for it!

Are those foods for display only (not the last pic)?
From what I know – certainly not for us.
I’m not sure if the VIPs had any portion of it.
