lexiegirl, noe4ting, myself (a.k.a. goldfries) and a bunch of friends had a pre-New Year gathering at The Spread, a restaurant at The Gardens Hotel. The catch for this buffet dinner session was that we were to dine there between 6pm to 8pm in order to be entitled for 50% discount.
Our meal cost us RM 47.50 per person after discount, of course with that amount paid, we also had a wealth of food for our taking.
Before you click the READ MORE link below, I must caution you that this article has quite a fair bit of photos. It’s a buffet, it’s not the usual few photos of the restaurant and food thing.
Now this place called THE SPREAD is not difficult to find, just head to Midvalley area and ask any of the staff at The Gardens Hotel and they’ll courteously guide you to the restaurant.

The dining area at The Spread is spacious and quite brightly lit, comfortable yet not gloomy.

The food were carefully segregated along the many bars that are along and opposite the center kiosk.

Here we see the hungry souls gather as they fasten their eyes on their desires delicacies before the feast begins. Yes, you guessed it! It’s the seafood section where aphrosidiatistic oysters, tantalizing lobsters and scrumptious shrimps lay in wait, among many other things laid there.

Yes but of course, there’s the empty side of the restaurant where people just couldn’t be bothered with, such as the areas serving pancake, chicken rice and other local delights.

Here’s the scenic view from one end of our designated dining table,

and here’s the view from the other end where I sat. As you can see, iced lemon tea were served to us the moment we mark our territory……. not literally though.

I’m sure my words will never be as powerful as the photos I took when it comes to enticing you to salivation – SO BEHOLD! THE FOOD!
Here is my plate of crustaceans, carefully laid shrimps (some prefer to call it prawns, whichever), lobsters and ……. eh, I think they’re clams, perfectly shaped that you could turn them into bikinis.

More of the lobsters from the counter…….

An assortment of add-on dishes that are known and unknown to many……

Fruits galore, enough to be the envy of any market …..

Herbs and spices, makes one feel like a spice trader back in the 16th century……

As you can see, we are also capable of creative styling for our spoils. It’s just that most of us couldn’t be bothered decorating what’s to be destroyed 30 seconds later.

Pastry was also not in the lack……

And there’s chicken rice too!

And chicken!

And then there are those unidentified cute little things that one couldn’t help to wonder about the taste, and subsequently succumb to the temptation of such color combination.

As for me, I decided to go for the good’ol waffle with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate chips and honey.

Certainly a delighting combination, to feel the crunchy waffle and chocolate chips along with the sweet sensation of honey and the cool and sweet vanilla ice cream going down your throat. Sensual?
Before we end, I present to you another of our creatively placed spoil – strawberries.

We had a good time as a bunch of friends would have as they gather. I truly enjoyed the meal, especially the seafood. The other dishes such as the chicken, the lamb……. oh yes, juicy lamb.
I’m sure you understand that I can’t be photographing every single item.
2-hours to eat only leh, no time la.
Anyway, we ended our session there with a visit to the patio or some sort where you could have a view of the city.

Not outstanding but certainly is still a view.
