Cafe Vienna – The Place for Veal Shank
I was invited to YTL’s soft-launch of their new 4G brand held at Cafe Vienna (obviously, as per the title) at Lot 10.
Now this is probably one of the few, or in fact the first article that I’m writing without much details, I thought it was just yet-another-event and certainly did not expect to be facing so manyyummydeliciouslyawesomenessZOMGBBQSAUCEfancy dishes.
Zis is ze place….. pardon that bunting there.
The interior design of whole restaurant looks like it’s Viennese-based (is that the way to put it? 😛 ) – a cozy place I must say.
Allow me to show you more interesting
Here’s a view of the event from the lonely (and cozy) corner of the restaurant.
WTH!?!?! Camera? A really really really old camera? The type that you need every moving thing to freeze for a long time just to get a shot………… I think. Such antiques are so lovely to behold. 🙂
Ok now to the subject – Veal Shank!!! Oh yeah this one’s so lovely!
The veal shank was great, de-boned and pre-cut. The mean is tender and juicy, accompanied by a generous covering of what tasted like spaghetti sauce (beef?) and served with potato wedges and broccoli. My best guess (as if my taste buds weren’t overwhelmed already) was that they used Worcestershire sauce for the decorative pattern that’s along the side of the dish.
The veal shank comes costs a little over RM 40 but it’s worth a try.
Here are the rest of the food that I did not take note of their names. Bear in mind that this was an event, everyone ordered something but almost no one knows who ordered what.
I didn’t have the chance to take photo of everything, neither was it a convenient time to match the food to the menu – it was totally unplanned, hence the motto “SPONTANEOUS FOOD-NALISM” 😛 I can’t be warding off the hungry people around me when savory food are on the table, it’s not nice to make friends into enemies just over dinner, right? 🙂 Took a few photos and RUN!!!!……….. oh wait that didn’t sound right, because I am still part of the horde that charge in on the food. 😀
Ok enough of my long stories, let’s go feel hungry. To what I remember, this is a seafood combo thingy (obvious, no?) – I only had the prawn. I can’t describe the taste.
Then the Nachos, not something like the ones you get at Chili’s but I think you could pretty much figure out what it tastes like from here.
I don’t know what is the next one. Didn’t try it. Don’t ask me why.
This one seems to be buffalo wings, I think. I didn’t try it either, was holding my camera and didn’t feel like getting my fingers smothered in sauce.
I think this one is called Fried Calamari. It was served the same style as their Chicken Fingers dish. They came with tartar sauce.
And lastly, a dish that’s also unknown to me but feel free to give it a try.
From what I remember of the menu, the dishes are decently priced. It’s considered upper end, something like TGIF and Chili’s in price range. I personally think it’s a great place to go for a date, considering it’s on the 2nd floor of Lot 10 which is pretty quiet. 😉
