Just realize I haven’t publish this despite being more than 6 months since my trip to Singapore for Windows 8 launch.
Nevertheless, never too late to get to know some Singaporean dining joint that’s worth visiting.
I walked all the way from Cross St (sound side of the island) to Purvis Street for this meal, not that I can’t take a cab or MRT but I just wanted to enjoy the walk since I’m there.
Chin Chin is a simple restaurant located in a small lane called Purvis Street. I was there quite late, initially I wanted to visit their competitor restaurant across the road but they were sold out so Chin Chin was my 2nd choice.
So there I ordered the Hainanese Pork Chop Rice – I was expecting some delicious Hainanese gravy but I was disappointed as the gravy is just a simple sweet & sour sauce.
Here’s a closer view of the dish. It’s still good, despite my huge disappointment on the gravy provided. The pork was delicious, nicely fried and with still the moisture and texture in tact. Good to the last bite.
Overall – I recommend giving this place a try, it only cost me SGD 7.90 for the meal above of which SGD 1.30 of that paid amount was for the Coke.
