Gourmet Popcorn? What? And look at the price – RM 10 for the plain flavored (small) while the rest costs like RM 17 or more! What’s so special about this popcorn?
After savoring the Caramel flavored (a gift from someone), I decided to try out some of the other flavors.
The packaging is the most awesome of any popcorn I’ve ever seen.
I bought 2 packets, it cost me RM 27 – one for the plain, and the other for CheeseCorn.
here’s the package.
It looks so nice, it’s worthy to be a gift set if you have ran out of ideas on what to give someone.
So it’s a plastic bag, then a paper bag, then yet another semi transparent bag.
Below are the flavors I tried, starting of with the plain flavored. It’s so plain, I spent time to hunt for sweetness but didn’t find any. To me, it’s the popcorn for the overly health conscious.
Next up, the CaramelCrisp on which the caramel covers the popcorn throughout, and on every single piece. You can see how fine these popcorn are, and how well crafted. It’s no wonder they call it Gourmet Popcorn. The CaramelCrisp however, to me is too sweet, call it sugar-overload. It’s the exact opposite of the plain.
Then we have the CheeseCorn, popcorn coated with cheese powder. This one’s tasty, and be prepared to get your fingers covered in cheese powder too.
From what I gathered, their most popular offering would be the Chicago Mix which is a mixture of CaramelCrisp and CheeseCorn. They also have another flavor called Buttery. There are also specialty flavors – Almond CaramelCrisp, Cashew CaramelCrisp and Macadamia CaramelCrisp. Now if you think about, they’re not exactly additional flavors as they’re just CaramelCrisp with nuts.
Do give them a try. They’re found in many places out – details at Garrett Popcorn. (only 2 outlets in Malaysia, one at KLCC, and another at 1-Utama).
🙂 Are you prepared to spend for some popcorn?
