Our dining adventures brought us to Publika yet again this time, we took quite some time browsing what’s available and finally decided to give Ichiban Boshi a try.
What drew my attention was their supposedly open air grilling but we ended up sitting inside and had a good Japanese feast.
Here’s a quick view of the place. It was a crowded weekend so using an SLR wasn’t a good idea. I hate drawing attention, so there comes the HTC One to do the job.
Here’s what we ordered. The serving was elaborate, there’s no room for me to do any fancy composition there.
On the left, Nikutofu Gozen – Beef & Tofu with scrambled egg, salad, salmon sashimi, miso soup, rice, appetizer & fruit. (RM 27.90)
On the right, Tori Curry Cheese Gozen – Fried chicken with Japanese Curry topped with cheese, assorted tempura, rice, appetizer, miso soup & fruit. RM 25.90
Both meal were great. The Nikutofu’s strength is in their beef and tofu, as the name suggests. The Tori Curry Cheese Gozen on the other hand, the aroma and taste of the curry overwhelms the cheese, I still manage to taste some of it but there’s very little to savor.
It was alright.
Then there’s the Tempura Ice Cream – Fried vanilla ice cream with strawberry jam.
Imagine tempura prawn, replace that with an ice cream. Good experience, not something I would order again.
Overall I think this place is great. The choice of food are wide, and the quality is good.
