Not an unfamiliar name in the arena of fine dining, Sagano of Renaissance Kuala Lumpur offers tantalizing delights of Japanese theme elegantly prepared by chef Zamri.
Here’s the menu for Sagano’s participation in MIGF 2013.
Our fine dining menu starts of with a plate of appetizers offering Breaded Chicken with Japanese Tartar Sauce (top, picture below), Scallop layered with Kiwi and Miso Sauce (middle, picture below), Barbequed Tuna with Homemade Tomato Sauce (bottom, picture below).
They were all delicious, from the fresh flavors of the sea that accompanies the tuna and scallops to the crispy crusted chicken with tartar sauce. My favorite among them was the breaded chicken.
Live Prawn coated with Egg Yolk in Clear Mushroom Soup was served as our starter for the course, which I think is an interesting marriage of seafood and mushroom soup.
The main course is up next, with 4 creations in the line up.
First was the Mount Fuji Sushi Roll, a glorified sushi roll that attempts to match its name, topped with a thinly sliced salmon.
Next was the Steamed Eel and Tofu with Sticky Spinach Sauce.
3rd in the line up is the Grilled Cod stuffed with Potato in Honey Teriyaki, of which is one of the most memorable item in this dining session. I fell in love with the taste of the cod, well grilled ans mixed with the accompanying ingredients that were stuffed within.
Lastly came the Wagyu Striploin and White Radish with Spicy Soy Sauce, each slice of the beef was tender and as always with a properly prepared wagyu beef, the beefy sensation tingles the taste buds with each chew.
Sesame Ice Cream with Macha Mousse was served as our dessert to end this hearty and memorable dining session.
Overall – this menu at RM 150++ per person is definitely in our Recommended List.
Many thanks to Renaissance Hotel for hosting us, and special thanks to Chef Zamri for the delicious meal.
