While the brand is not new, it certainly is a fresh face to appear in Malaysia’s Italian food scene.
Capricciosa serves authentic Italian food but is founded and made famous by a Japanese chef in Japan since 1978.
Currently they are only operating from 2 outlets, of which the one featured in this article is shifting to a new lot at Sunway Pyramid.
We won’t go into the detailed history of this brand but feel free to read more if you have the time to spare.
The restaurant’s seating arrangement is such that there is a mix of both tables that are within cubicle and tables that are not. At the front, you are able to witness the process of pizza making, that is if you think staring into the glass chamber is a lot of fun.
Starting off our late dinner was the Tuna & Calamari Salad (RM 8.90) which I think is of great value for money. The portion, freshness and taste of the salad was good.
Up next is the 9″ Personal Pizza (RM 15.90) that an individual could find it hard to finish it alone. Good tasting but not great, not particularly memorable either.
Pizza aside, I ordered Lasagna (RM 19.90) that doesn’t quite look like what’s shown in the menu. This serving is huge BUT it doesn’t give the FEEL of a lasagna. Just some layered pasta, some sauce and cheese around. In my opinion, this is a sorry excuse for a lasagna and I recommend avoiding it unless you are looking for a large dosage of pasta with cheese and sauce.
Lastly it’s the Affogato (RM 8.90) that’s Espresso with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. This one’s quite alright, those who want a mix of expresso with some sweet stuff should give it a try.
