The name “SparkPeople” might be familiar to some of you who are into health and fitness, they are also the people behind SparkRecipes of which this App is from.
While the starting page is very plain, don’t let this demure appearance fool you. The app is quite useful for those looking for “healthy recipes” as the title suggests.
Starting off right at the top is the option to search and along with the search bar on top is the drop down menu for you to decide the calorie level of the recipe.
Unfortunately the search doesn’t bode well for me, the app just doesn’t list the recipe within X amount of calorie that I set.
It’s a good thing that the app also allows you to search based on categories, for example Low Carb, or Italian, or Christmas.
Click on the name of the dish and you’ll be given the recipe and each recipe comes with 4 tabs on top, starting off with Ingredients, Directions, Nutrition (indicating the nutritional value of the dish) and Image (what it looks like.
Despite the flaws in the app, I still think it’s one that’s great to have for reference.
