SnapDish Food Camera App Review

Being a photographer myself, I’ve seen many camera apps but I’ve not come by any camera app that’s made for FOOD like SnapDish.

The user interface alone gives it an Instagram feel, and perhaps a bit of Twitter too.

The key difference is that in this app you only see FOOD FOOD FOOD, no feet, no beaches, no selfies, no wings of a plane and all. Seriously, it’s all food! And going by their list of popular users, what they posted and points they received, this app has been around for a while.

The app itself is easy to use, with pop-ups making it very friendly to educate first time users.

The purpose of the app is for one to beautify the food photo and share it to their dedicated network but unfortunately the presets and manual settings are limited to only brightness and blur settings. I’m impressed that the app has a sharpening function where you can selectively sharpen an area BUT I’m disappointed that it doesn’t come with temperature control.

Overall it’s good stuff, a great place to discover more and more food whether it’s a new place to dine (not likely to be in Malaysia) or a recipe. I’m just a little uncomfortable that the software requests for sooooooooooo many details just to install.

Download it from Google Play.

    Hi there Buurps team,

this is Maik, in charge of developing SnapDish for Android.
First of all thank you for the nice review! We are always happy to see photography and food enthusiasts enjoying our app.
I would also love to exchange some more information about the points regarding temperature control (you mean light temperature, right?) and the “signup details” you mentioned.

    Thanks in advance and cheers,
    Maik

Gosh Angie, this is a really interesting recipe. And what a super summer dish too. Looks like it slices without mushing together….something I always worry about with stuffed bread. Potatoes in it as well. Love it!
