I came to know about Miam Miam from my contacts on Facebook, they recommended me this restaurant as I was asking for a “makan place” at Gurney Paragon.
Looking for this restaurant isn’t as straight forward as it seems, there’s no huge signboard saying “MIAM MIAM” either as the name is tastefully done in a manner that it doesn’t turn out to be an eyescore. If I were to equate signboards to way of speech, I’d equate Miam Miam’s shop sign as a whisper.
Miam Miam is located at the center of Gurney Paragon Mall, if you can find Starbucks – you can find Miam Miam.
From the first image of this article and the image below, one might think that Miam Miam is yet another Western food restaurant. It is but it’s not without a twist.
Here’s a description of Miam Miam seen on the menu.
Even their Facebook Page describes the restaurant as “A French-Japanese Cafe & Kitchen”.
Overall the restaurant is well decorated and it provides a very comfortable dining experience. Here’s where I sat.
For my lunch, I ordered Clam Chowder Soup (RM 11) as the appetizer. As you can see, they were generous with the serving of garlic bread. The chowder was good, with clam and various chunks of vegetable cut into nice little pieces.
My choice of main course was the Pasta Carbonara with Egg Yolk & Bacon (RM 24.80). Yup, it’s a rather pricey pasta but the taste was something memorable. The pasta was well cooked, served with the egg yolk already as part of the creamy gravy while the pasta itself is topped with Parmesan cheese.
I think the most astounding feature of the Pasta is the Bacon. Yup, BACON! Actual PORK bacon, need I describe more about the Pasta?
Overall it Miam Miam is certainly in my list of “good eats” at Gurney Drive. Craving for some Western + Eastern mix of culinary artistry? This is the place.
