Shin Tokyo Sushi opened not too long at Jaya33 so we decided to give it a try.
Apparently Shin Tokyo Sushi claims to be a Halal Japanese Food provider, as stated on their website.
The restaurant did not forget to include revolving sushi conveyor belt. 😀
Their Chicken Katsu Don (RM 16.80) was decent though no where near the likes of those served at Rakuzen, bear in mind that it’s priced a lot cheaper. I’d say it’s more closer to that of Sushi Tei.
Of course naming those from other restaurants might not be that helpful to begin with unless you tasted them before, nevertheless to sum it up, the dish does not fail in delivering. The chicken could use a bit more marination and they could improve on the overall taste of the dish, it’s just a bit lacking on the punch.
Up next is the Honey Chicken Teishoku (RM 16.80), now this one’s a good value for money. It comes with a nice set of various tiny dishes to make up a complete meal. What it lack is freshness, overall the taste was decent. See the direction so far?
We also tried the soft shell crab (RM 13.80), not the best one around but surprisingly better than some places, once again the let down was that it just lacks the punch. It’s not that it’s tasteless but it could’ve been better.
Overall you get what you paid for. The food is decent, the value is quite good. If you’re not that picky when it comes to taste, just want something Japanese to savor on without breaking the bank and having no other options nearby, then this might be the one for you.
