Decided to reward myself with an awesome lunch today, so I decided that Bubba Gump would be the place to be.
Starting off with appetizers – the Cajun Shrimp (RM 24.90), fresh shrimps sauteed in hot and spicy Cajun Butter Sauce and served with garlic bread for dipping.
I love the butter sauce, can’t have enough for the garlic bread to dip into eat. The shrimps were great too but I must say that the garlic bread in butter sauce seems to be stealing the show.
Up next is the Old Fashion New England Clam Chowder (CUP variant – RM 9.90, and the name’s quite a mouthful). Clam? What Clam? 😀 The chowder was so packed with all sorts of goodies, this might not suit your liking if you prefer more liquid than solid stuff. It’s good nevertheless.
Captain’s Fish & Chips (RM 25.90) – the serving was huge but I’m quite disappointed about the way it was made. The crust was quite thick and hard while the fish itself felt rather dry.
Let’s just say I can’t call the dish GOOD though I love the portion. I hope they can improve on the quality as the fish should still be tender and moist, the crust ought to be crispy but not hard.
And lastly – the reason I came here was for THIS! BBQ Beef Back Ribs (Large – RM 62.90), despite Bubba Gumps being the “Seafood” place, you’ll be surprised how good their beef ribs can be. In fact I find their beef ribs to be better than TR’s and it’s been like this for years.
And so that ends my report on what I had for lunch. 🙂
So tell us – do you think there’s any other dish that we should give a try at Bubba Gump?
