Penang Village is a known franchise in Klang Valley, and the one we visit was at Hartamas Shopping Complex.
The Village Special Fried Rice (RM 15.90) is their signature fried rice that’s cooked with mixed vegetables, prawn, bulls-eye egg and some baba fried chicken.
Next on our meal was Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik (RM 18.90) gives anyone and everyone who haven’t tried the “blue rice” a taste, which is quite delicious as it also comes with Ayam Percik, a local favorite when it comes to cooking style for chicken where it’s covered in think brown sauce that’s sweet and salty.
Lastly we have the Ayam Masak Merah, literally translated to Chicken Cooked Red, basically it’s chicken cooked in red sauce that makes it red.
The ayam masak merah was delicious, well cooked chicken with tasty sweet and salty red colored gravy, of course with a touch of spice to liven up each bite.
There’s a limit in funds and stomach space for a 2-person “makan session” but if you’re craving for some local delights then you should try Penang Village.
The ambiance was comfortable, we were seated at the wall where the seats were cushioned. I for one, love the space and atmosphere of the outlet.
The only problem I had was when I wanted to signal for a waiter, there seem to be more crowd then the number of staff manning the place. Nevertheless the food were served in timely fashion and all is good.
