What else did I do in Taiwan? 😀 To find out what the large fried chicken tastes like at the place of origin – Taiwan! Don’t believe me? Well I’m just quoting them from their official website.
So there I was, walking around 西門町 (Xi Men Ding) like a stray cat looking for the elusive Hot-Star Large Fried Chicken. Alas I found it and it was with hordes of people lining up for the chicken.
And so came my turn, of which I just ordered the chicken that costs just 60 NT.
And here’s my ticket, with receipt and voucher for drink discounts.
After waiting for about 10 minutes or so, finally came my chicken – HUGE!!!
Was it tasty? Well it was but it’s just average at best, the meat was on the tough side and the crust was so thick that I began to discard them at one point because I got tired of it.
It took me quite a while to finish the whole chicken, maybe 15 – 20 minutes. I didn’t track the time as I was busy observing the crowd while nomming away. As you can see from the image below, it’s not boneless so take care when you’re laying your bite.
I don’t see what’s great about the chicken but I can understand the crowd – it’s a huge piece of meat for 60 NT, that translates to about RM 6. 😀
