Whenever you have organic kitchen waste, do not just discard as garbage. There are ways to recycle it as ‘compost’ and these are great materials for your food growing project.
What is ‘compost’? Just highlighting the gist; Wikipedia says, “Compost is organic matter that has been decomposed and recycled as a fertilizer and soil amendment. At the simplest level, the process of composting simply requires making a heap of wetted organic matter known as green waste (leaves, food waste) and waiting for the materials to break down into humus after a period of weeks or months.”
The idea of composting may sound complicated to some but there are simple and practical methods of creating your own compost. Merely highlighting a few, here are some suggestions found in the web.
Have fun! 🙂
