Don’t be fooled by the simple name, Asian Market Café is a restaurant that’s part of a 5-star hotel. Among the 3 words in the name, the only one that I feel is relevant to the restaurant is Asian. 🙂 It’s certainly not a market and it most certainly does not feel like a café.
Asian Market Café’s sumptuous halal-certified buffet serves both local favourites and contemporary regional delicacies, reflecting the colourful diversity of flavours and cultures within the region.
The entrance of Asian Market Café is one that doesn’t call for attention, in fact the entrance is located at a secluded corner that you wouldn’t even notice it without actually going through that corridor.
Right at the entrance, a bright and cheerful atmosphere awaits all patrons.
What you saw in the image above is the first of 3 sections of dining area.
The second section would be the busiest and the noisiest as it is also where the food are placed.
The 3rd area is right at the back of the restaurant, a much quieter area for one to dine in peace but that’s subjected to the crowd in the vicinity.
What about the food?
Starting the spread is the seafood where the Alaskan King Crab and the chilled prawns call for attention, all the red, all the lovely!
It’s also good to have a balanced meal, so they prepared a spread of greens for the health conscious.
Being Asian, how could one forget about Japanese food? They didn’t.
Chicken rice, lamb chop, grilled squids – you name it! The variety of dishes is simply amazing and this isn’t even half of what is available.
Another range of seafood on the other side, some prawns and chili crabs – yup, it comes with gravy and ‘man tou’ too.
Across the room there’s an equally long spread of goodies, which is just too much for me to cover. Drinks aside there were Malay food, Chinese food and even a personnel at a station making delicious Roti Prata, love the Roti Prata Cheese!
Desserts you say? Sure, here ya go, and that’s not all of it.
There are cold desserts too!
Overall I had good dining experience at Asian Market Café, the staff were quick and attentive, I need not worry when it comes to getting utensils and such. 🙂 Food wise they were great too, I loved the Roti Prata Cheese and the spread of Malay food was excellent. The Chili Crab seems to be the crowd favorite, it was good but no where near the flavor found in many Malaysian restaurants.
If you’re looking for great Asian-food buffet then this place is hard to beat.
