24-hours? Yes, Hayaki is a restaurant franchise that brings the great taste of Kelantanese food to Klang Valley and it’s open 24-hours. 🙂 If you haven’t heard of them yet then it’s a good thing you heard about them from us.
Hayaki has 4 outlets in Klang Valley, 2 are in Shah Alam with 1 in Setapak and 1 in Damansara Uptown which is the one in the photo above.
The restaurant is spacious and comfortable and from what I gathered it’s also a place than many love to hangout. Even during our dining session there the place was filled with loud laughter of various groups.
With our limited stomach space, we ordered only 2 items from the menu. First up is the Nasi Kukus Hayaki for RM 7.90 that looked great on the menu but turned out to be quite a disappointment.
I don’t mind the package but what I really do mind is that the served content was very different from what’s seen on the menu. The chicken smells great and tasted pretty good too but it was small, gotta love the steamed rice though.
The RM 10.90 Nasi Kerabu Daging Lembu Special was up next, it had a great balance of rice and vegetables that tasted great but the beef was a let-down as it was tough and dry.
Overall I had mixed feelings for Hayaki, I like the atmosphere that’s great for chillaxing with buddies and the range of food but the food seems to be a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps it was because our meal was around 11PM but I don’t see how that should be a reason to be having a meal of lesser quality. Perhaps they serve better quality food during lunch and dinner time.
