Podgy & The Banker at Sri Hartamas

A neighborhood cafe that I would never have come across if I hadn’t been informed, Podgy & The Banker sits at a quiet corner of Sri Hartamas, probably only noticed by the people who work or live around the area, hence calling it a “neighborhood cafe” is quite appropriate.

The setup is casual and comfortable, food and drinks are ordered at the counter and served by the staff.

Seat where you like the environment is as cozy as it gets, a great place to hangout at any time of the day.

Starting off I’d like to introduce their Mocha (RM 11) – love the taste and the fine foam layer, probably one of the better tasting mocha in town.

The Chicken Avocado Sandwich (RM 16) – nothing out of the ordinary here but it sure tastes good with the thin slices of chicken and avocado.

The Chicken Salad (RM 18) – I think I need not elaborate on what the salad is, taste-wise I like it very much. I believe it’s the touch of olive oil (and quite a generous one) that made it extra delicious.

The Chicken Wrap (RM 15) is yet another chicken related dish we ordered, I have no idea how it went but we just ordered and it turned out that way. In any case, the chicken wrap is as what you see in the photo, it’s chicken wrapped in tortilla.

The Beef Bacon Sandwich (RM 14) – the cheapest among the lot yet it’s my favorite, though I wish the beef bacon could be a little more tender. I like how they included an egg into the fray, that’s probably the winning touch for this combo.

Lastly the Chicken Pie (RM 8) – nope, we ordered this one not because it was chicken but because it was pie and it’s quite a nice one too.

OK I know what you might be thinking now – the price is a killer, well yeah it’s on the high side but I think that’s pretty much the price for sandwiches at most places, like say Starbucks for example.

While I do agree that the price is on the high side, I think what you get from this joint is good food and good environment, it’s up to you to bring good company over.

Do check out their menu before heading there.

The outlet at Sri Hartamas is the original while they have a second outlet at Mon’t Kiara. Visit theirwebsite for details such as address and operating hours.
