You see the title you know how this article is going to end already but nevermind you continue read on, get to know the food – never know you like it right? 😛
Alright so this is YET ANOTHER “THAI” twist in food, it’s not the first and certainly won’t be the last. Even McD had a Thai burger promotion but I missed that one, nevermind that. The tagline seen at the poster on the cash register says “Unmistakably Thai” – perhaps, then again I think not.
This is what the chicken looks like – it totally strays from KFC’s usual offerings. I’ve tasted quite a number of them and they’re usually quite alright but this one’s the exception, I’ve not seen any of their chicken being this bad.
Here’s a closer look at the chicken, notice how it looks like the surface of Mars at a glance?
The thing I don’t like about this Thai twist is that it’s super duper laden with powder, it felt like I was sampling some make-up kit. My fingers were covered in spicy powder all the way, it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
To make things worse, the chicken relies entirely on that thick powder coat for the taste – so during the course of the meal I not only look like a clown, I look like a clown with lips on fire. No joke, the chicken is spicy, take the usual Hot & Spicy chicken’s spice level and multiply it by 3 or 4.
Overall it’s poorly executed, I ended up not having the chicken skin and most bits of it simply because of the insane amount of powder. I could’ve done so but I’ll be having a swollen face, malfunctioned tongue and very likely I’ll be breathing fire through my rear shortly after.
The set is at RM 13.50 for 2 pieces and RM 16.90 for 3 pieces, both come with coleslaw and mashed potatoes and a service of Lipton iced tea.
